I first met Ted Kennedy nearly fifteen years ago when I first began attending St Vincent's Church. Like many other disillusioned Catholics I searched for a Church that would challenge my faith life and provide a supportive and inspiring community. I have certainly not been disappointed.

Over the years I have been challenged and inspired by Ted's wonderful homilies, extraordinarily moved by his commitment and devotion to the poor and in his own gentle way I have felt his personal care and support for myself and my family.

In 1994 my partner Damian and I were very privileged to have Ted celebrate our wedding and attend our party. As we prepared the Mass, Ted empowered us to direct it in our own way and offered kind support when needed.

During the times that we have experienced much worry over our son Liam's health, Ted has always shown deep felt concern and support. This has been very consoling for me and my family and we are very grateful.

What a privilege it has been to be part of a community led by a man who has been so treasured, loved and respected.

With all my love,
